Dr. Ryan Bock
Dr. Ryan Bock purchased Marion Animal Hospital in 2004, after working at a mixed animal practice in southeastern Iowa. He grew up on a dairy farm in Missouri and owes a lot of his love for animals to his family, especially his grandmother who started the family in the dairy business. Dr. Bock earned a Bachelor of Science degree at College of the Ozarks, followed by his DVM from the University of Missouri in 2001. Dr. Bock especially enjoys working on challenging internal medicine cases and seeing the happiness owners have when their pets recover from being ill. He also enjoys dermatology cases which can be difficult but rewarding when improvements are made. The part of veterinary medicine he enjoys the most is getting to know his clients and patients and seeing how important the human-animal bond is. Dr. Bock enjoys the bond he has with his own four-legged friends including dogs, cats, chickens, dairy goats, and a miniature pony. Dr. Bock met his wife, Peggy, at College of the Ozarks, and they married in 1995. Dr. Bock is extremely proud of his three adult children, Emma, Alex, and Abby. Hobbies for Dr. Bock include spending time with his animals, working on his small acreage, and following his favorite sports teams, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Missouri Tigers.
